Braces and teeth extractions? Orthodontist or people with braces?

Ok so I am getting braces tomorrow but I have to get teeth extractions after I get them on! I haven%26#039;t really heard of this because most people get the teeth extracted weeks before! My orthodontist is really really good but I don%26#039;t know if I trust him on this! I have to get 4 teeth pulled (you cant see it when i smile!) because 2 teeth on the bottom dont have adult teeth growing under it so he also has to take the ones on the top out! Can someone please help me?! I think it is because of the baby tooth that doesn%26#039;t haven%26#039;t anything growing under it I definetly don%26#039;t have any crowding it%26#039;s just those baby teeth, my gap, and a small overbite

I have the same thing, I have had ma braces for 9 months and 8 months l8r i have to have my tooth taken out, which was really annoying. And the tooth extractions hurt. I think u have to trust ur ortho on this one. The teeth ma dentist took out were all adult teeth.

Reply:My daughter just got her braces in Aug, and they went a head and put her braces on then decided that she need 4 teeth pulled. Everything was fine, in fact it went very well. I guess its common to put on the braces and if teeth need to be pulled its fine to do. Sometimes they put the braces on first and see how the teeth move around and if they need room for the teeth to move they will pull them and its usually the ones behind the eye teeth because people don%26#039;t need those teeth as much.
Reply:I just had two teeth pulled, and I%26#039;ve had braces for a couple years. I was sent to a specialist in %26quot;children%26#039;s%26quot; densitry beause I have braces, and the man was an idiot. Since your orthodonist is having you get your teeth out while you have your braces, don%26#039;t go to the person he suggests.
Reply:The person who usually extracts your teeth is your dentists, or your orthodontist could do it also.





As for the pain, you%26#039;re not going to feel anything because you are going to be numb, but after the procedure it might hurt a little so take some pain relievers like Advil etc.
